Training for New Election Inspectors

Last Updated: 3/14/2023

As we near the 2023 elections, the Tioga County Board of Elections is seeking new election inspectors to bolster our ranks. If you are interested in serving for the 2024 Presidential Elections, this is a great time to get some experience!

Workers may be registered with any political party or unaffiliated, but those who are not registered Democrat or Republican will be assigned to represent one of those major parties on Election Day.

We will train all workers to operate the voting machines and electronic poll books.  Anyone who has touch-screen or keyboard skills can check in voters on one of the electronic poll books.

Training sessions will be held during the following dates and times:

Monday, April 17, 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Wednesday, April 19, 10:00 am – 1:30 pm

Classes are limited to 16 individuals and advance registration is required. To register for election inspector training, please contact the Tioga County Board of Elections at 607-687-8261 or [email protected] at least one week prior to the class date. You must be a registered voter of Tioga County to be eligible.

These trainings are meant for new election inspectors. Inspectors who trained last summer are still certified thru July of this year and will also be eligible to work the June Primary.

Please consider this important contribution to the preservation of representative government in our community. It takes the effort of many to Defend Democracy and voting is patriotic!

If you are an employer and are able to give interested individuals time off on Primary Day, June 27th, or Election Day, November 7th, please ask them to contact us.
