Saturday, October 26th is National Drug Take-Back Day

Last Updated: 10/23/2024

Saturday, October 26th is National Drug Take Back Day, where people can safely get rid of old medicine and other drugs.

Tioga County residents will have two locations to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs this Saturday in Tioga County:

  • 1062 State Route 38, Owego from 10am - 2pm.
  • Waverly Police Department at 32 Ithaca Street from 10am - 1pm.

Medication tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs can be disposed of at both locations. Those who have sharps, syringes, needles, and lancets are able to dispose of these at the Owego location only. These must be in a sealed sharps container and "loose" sharps will not be accepted.
